Next to my Bed: Marcie Pantzer

Welcome to our latest installment of Next to My Bedfeature on Hill House Home's 40 Winks Blog that takes an up close and personal look at what some of our friends keep next to their bed.

Marcie Pantzer, Founder of Dear Annabelle

Former Town & Country editor Marcie Pantzer created luxury paper goods company Dear Annabelle out of her love of all things home decor and letter writing. Not only does the brand offer some of the most whimsically chic designs, but they are committed to doing it ethically, but purchasing paper stock from FSC-certified companies that use sustainable forestry practices. Dear Annabelle also donates a percentage of all sales to One Tree Planted, a Vermont-based environmental organization focused on global reforestation through tree-planting.

What side of the bed do you sleep on?

The right side.

What can you not sleep without?

Moisturizer on my face, two pillows, and my husband!

What is currently next to your bed?

My bedside table is a George Nelson cabinet from Design Within Reach with a vintage Maison Charles metal lamp.

Luckily my side table is fairly wide so I can keep tons of things on it. I have essentials like my phone, clock and tissue box. I always have a Dear Annabelle notepad for jotting down notes to myself. I also have a Waterford crystal ring holder that a friend gave me when I got engaged nearly 20 years ago. Whatever book or magazine I am reading, a candle and a lip balm (my new favorite is Vertly) complete the beside collection.

I often catch up on my thank you notes and other letters in bed, so I always keep a box of notecards handy on my bedside table, too.

What would you not be able to sleep without being next to your bed?

My phone. I try to resist the urge to check my phone at night, but I like to know that it is there just in case.

What is your nighttime routine in 5 steps or less?

  1. Change into my pajamas
  2. Brush and floss my teeth and try to remember my Invisalign
  3. Wash and moisturize my face with Biologique Recherche and Valmont products
  4. Check my emails one last time and set the alarm on my phone for 6:30 a.m.
  5. Practice the Tool’s Grateful Flow by silently thinking of 5 things that I am grateful for from that day
